On February 24, 2022, Russian President Putin ordered war in Ukraine, a country that has been independent since 1991. Since that day, more than 2 million refugees have been on the move, mostly mothers with their children and the elderly. The need is already very great, no one can say how things will continue in the near future.
Helping ukraine wants to focus on 4 topics, the details of which are listed below. Private individuals work closely together to help on site or at the Ukrainian/Polish border. On the one hand, it is about direct personal help, of course depending on one’s own possibilities, and on the other hand, it is about making the projects known to friends and acquaintances, so long-term support can be guaranteed.
Private individuals and companies also help closely together, with direct inquiries on site for needed donations in kind. Pharmacies are already supporting helping ukraine, which collect money in the shop and, in a further step, use the money to buy cheaper medical items.

One of my best friends has family in Ukraine and Russia and can only keep in touch by phone right now without knowing when and if she will see her parents, sister, cousin and grandmother again. It hurts my heart when I can only stand by myself and listen a little and otherwise not be able to help her in any other way. As with so many other people, part of her family lives in Russia and another part in Ukraine, not all are in contact with each other anymore.
Another very good friend has part of his family in the village of Bursa in Poland, very close to three Ukrainian border crossings. The on-site help is very large, really remarkable. Many mothers with children and the elderly have found shelter in houses and have a safe, warm place for the time being. His family has also made premises available for refugees. Thousands of refugees come every day and hundreds of helpers lend a hand to help where it is urgently needed.

This war affects many of my friends and acquaintances who have their family and friends in Ukraine and/or Russia and are directly affected. There are many people who want to help, especially during this difficult time. The helping ukraine projects are updated regularly.

Am 24. Februar 2022 hat der russische Präsident Putin den Krieg in der Ukraine befohlen, ein seit 1991 unabhängiges Land. Seit diesem Tag sind mehr als 2 Million Flüchtlinge unterwegs, vorallem Mütter mit ihren Kindern und ältere Menschen. Die Not ist jetzt schon sehr groß, wie es in der nächsten Zeit weitergeht, kann niemand sagen.
Helping ukraine will sich auf 4 Topics konzentrieren, die Details dazu sind weiter unten aufgelistet. Es arbeiten Privatpersonen eng zusammen um vor Ort bzw. an der polnischen/ ukrainischen Grenze zu helfen. Es geht zu einem um die direkte persönliche Hilfe, natürlich je nach den eigenen Möglichkeiten und zum anderen um das Bekanntmachen der Projekte im Freundes- und Bekanntenkreis, so kann eine langfristige Unterstützung gewährleistet werden.
Es helfen ebenso Privatpersonen und Unternehmen eng zusammen, mit direkten Anfragen vor Ort für benötigte Sachspenden. Bereits jetzt unterstützen Apotheken helping ukraine, die Geld im Geschäftslokal sammeln und im weiteren Schritt um das Geld kostengünstiger medizinische Artikel zu kaufen.

Eine meiner besten Freundinnen hat in der Ukraine und in Russland ihre Familie und kann gerade nur telefonisch Kontakt halten, ohne zu wissen, wann und ob sie ihre Eltern, Schwester, Cousine und Großmutter wiedersehen wird. Es tut mir im Herzen weh, wenn ich selbst nur danebenstehen kann, ein wenig zuhören kann und ihr aber sonst in keinster Weise anders helfen kann. Wie bei so viele anderen Menschen lebt ein Teil ihrer Familie in Russland und ein anderer Teil in der Ukraine, nicht alle sind mehr in Kontakt miteinander.
Ein anderer sehr guter Freund hat einen Teil seiner Familie im Dorf Bursa in Polen, ganz in der Nähe von drei ukrainische Grenzübergängen. Die Hilfe vor Ort ist sehr groß, wirklich bemerkenswert. Viele Mütter mit Kindern und ältere Menschen haben in Häusern Schutz gefunden und haben vorerst einen sicheren warmen Platz. Auch seine Familie hat für Flüchtlinge Räumlichkeiten zu Verfügung gestellt. Täglich kommen tausende Flüchtende und hunderte Helfer packen mit an, um zu helfen wo es dringend benötigt wird.
